Roblox DIY Party!

July 1, 2018 Kaleena Hernandez
IMG_20180701_135914_434.jpg

HI Y'all,

So my son decided he wanted to have a 'Roblox' birthday party. Which needless to say I could not find any 'Roblox' decorations ANYWHERE! Therefore the hunt began :)

First I purchased all black treat boxes from Oriental Trading - which is my go to party store! I then downloaded the 'R' Roblox symbol and glued it to the boxes. I was also able to find 'Roblox' water bottle labels, which I was super excited about but the way.

For the games, I decided to make a piñata and 'Pin the Box on the Roblox;' (as I liked to call it LOL).  I grabbed a cardboard box (which you can get from any store) and wrapped in black wrapping paper. As I did with the treat boxes, I downloaded the 'Roblox' symbols and glued them on to each side of the box. As for the 'Pin the Tail' game, I glued some characters and more 'Roblox' symbols on white poster board and left a square space in the middle. The kids absolutely loved it!

Now the cake--- Aaahhhh the cake, as I mentioned before I could not find anything with a Roblox theme. The solution, we ordered an Avengers cake (and specifically asked for no toy topping). We purchased the 'Roblox' Mystery boxes and the figurines and placed them on the cake. Turned out to be so adorable!

Hope these tidbits help!

Peace and love,

Sweet 16 Masquerade Cardbox

May 5, 2018 Kaleena Hernandez

Hi Yall,

I was recently invited to a sweet 16 and was asked to make some masquerade decor. Well, needless to say I forgot to take pictures of the decor at the sweet 16, FML, BUT I DID get to take step by step pics of the Cardbox I made.

I kept the box from my FabFitFun subscription and cut a rectangle whole on top.

20180325_131010.jpg

I then wrapped the box with black wrapping paper. and made a slit right down the middle where I previously cut out the rectangle slot. Now this was a little tricky, in order to give it a "finished" look, I bent the wrapping paper inside the whole and taped it. Unfortunately, I didn't get pics of this part of the process. Why me?

I bought Thank You cards the color to match the themed party, which was Black and Gold.  and took my X-Acto Gripster knife and carefully cut out the 'Thank You' part (without managing to cut myself in the process).

I previously downloaded a masquerade template from the computer and used it as a guidance when I cut out the masks.

I purchased the feathers from Hobby Lobby and I gradually taped and glued the pieces together! I hope this sends someone an idea for a cardbox!

Peace & Love, Kali

Frame Collage Project

April 20, 2018 Kaleena Hernandez

Hiya!!!!

Sooo since we moved into our home we've been staring at a bare wall in our family room for quite some time. I kept telling myself over and over that I'd get to it; well I FINALLY did. And thank goodness for that! I absolutely LOVE the way it came out.

So these are the steps that I took to ATTEMPT to make it as leveled as possible LOL. First I created a border around the area which I wanted to lay the frames. I traced the frames onto brown builder's paper (which you can get plenty from Home Depot). I did this so I can rearrange where I wanted to lay out the frames; before I started punching holes in the wall LOL.

Once the builder's paper was up, I placed the frames where I wanted them and was able to rearrange when I needed to. Because I am a Virgo and need to be so meticulous about everything, you can say I rearranged the builders paper more times then I needed!

Check out the pics below!! I hope this helps!!

Peace and Love, Kali

From Garbage to Storage!

Hi yall!!!

So I was recently given a cabinet that was pretty run down and on its way out the door! As you can see by the before pics :)

Since my friends know I'm alllll about diy projects and just simply fascinated by the creativity people can do with second hand stuff, my friend hand delivered this gem to me :)

Because I already had an idea that I'd be making the boys room superheroes themed, I thought I'd paint the cabinet gray and blue. I mean these are neutral colors in super hero world right? Lol well either way gray and blue are my favorite colors!!!

Please see the before and after pics and tell us what you think!!

Love & Peace,

Kali ❤

100 Day of School Project

February 3, 2018 Kaleena Hernandez
20180126_203502_resized.jpg

Hi All,

So my son had a '100 Day of School' T-Shirt Project due last week. I searched the web high and low, and let me tell you, there are some of the most creative projects out there!! He came up with his own idea of putting stickers on a T-Shirt. The project entailed placing items on a shirt in increments of 2, 5, or 10; I figured 10 would be the easiest to accomplish.

20180126_193557_resized.jpg 20180126_203612_resized.jpg 20180126_203617_resized.jpg 20180126_203621_resized.jpg 20180126_203818_resized.jpg

As all parent's become accustomed to, when you have more than one child, what you do for one you HAVE to do for the other. So of course I go the little one a Tee and some stickers as well.

DIY Headboard Project

January 19, 2018 Kaleena Hernandez
20180119_224058.jpg

Hiiiiii. I know it's been a crazy while since I've shared anything! But it's a New Year and I figure I get back into the swing of things!!

So i wanted to share my latest project with you guys. Apparently, down here in the Sunshine State there is wood just randomly being given away!! I couldn't believe it, just loads and loads of wood pallets at your disposal!! If you have a truck or the means to to travel with it, then viola it's yours!

I had the idea that I wanted to make a headboard, why not right? Random wood pallets just lying around, why not put it to good use. Besides taking the wood apart, I created a frame and stained it with 'Wood Finish' in color 'Golden Oak'. Now I wish it could've been a taaaad lighter but after hours of work, I was NOT about to restain it. LOL  Then I went to Target and Home Goods and purchased the bed accessories. Needless to say I absolutely love the outcome :) What do you think??

Peace & Love,

Kali

Unisex Diaper Bouquet

October 26, 2016 Kaleena Hernandez

Diaper Bouquet

Hi All!!

So my sister-in-law is expecting!! Yayyy, can’t wait to hold the baby. So she decided that she wanted a gender reveal party.  Her concept is slightly different from most gender reveal parties; the gender is only hidden from her and her husband. Within the invitation my niece has specified the sex of the baby so that they don’t receive a lot of green and yellow clothing!! LOL Which I thought was VERY smart.

I decided I wanted to do something special for her, and told her I was going to make a Diaper Bouquet; to differ from the common ‘Diaper Cake’.  I took photos and listed step-by-step instructions incase anyone reading this wanted to recreate it for someone they know.

What you’ll need:

Diapers (obviously)

Tulle (any color you want)

A Vase

Decorative Gems (any color)

Sticks

Tape

Instructions:

Place the decorative gems in the vase

Wrap the diapers around the sticks

Tie rubber bands around the rolled diapers

Wrap tulle around the diapers and tape closed

Stick the diapers in the vase

Arrange the flowers appropriately

Use loose tulle and place between the sticks

Let me know if you get to try this at home!!

Eczema DIY Cream

March 25, 2016 Kaleena Hernandez

Hi All!!!

I was recently browsing the web for DIY homemade Eczema creams for my baby as the over the counter lotions have not been very effective, and I came across a homemade Tea Tree Oil treatment. I have seen some real improvement with his skin. I found this remedy on Pinterest (of course!) and listed the ingredients below and the directions on how to make the lotion. I also made a small pot for my coworker since she suffers from severe eczema. She absolutely raves about the cream. She has said the cream has lightened her skin and alleviates the itch. I also have been bathing my son with the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter bar soap. I used this bar soap with my oldest son a couple of years ago when he bad eczema and when I recently found it sitting on the shelf of GNC I was so excited I bought it!! I love this soap it's sooo moisturizing, the only complaint I have is that it has a strong fragrance. I guess it's because of the Frankincense and Myrrh extracts. So between the Myrrh and the Tea Tree oil, my 1 year is walking around smelling like a little lumberjack!! Hey! At least his skin is getting better. LOL

Ingredients:
1/4 cup shea butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
15 drops lavender essential oil, therapeutic grade only
5 drops tea tree essential oil, therapeutic grade only

Directions:

- Fill a saucepan halfway full with water.  Heat the water over medium high heat (but do not boil).
- In a mason jar add the shea butter and the coconut oil.  Place mason jar in the saucepan (like a makeshift double boiler) until the oils melt.
- Remove the mason jar and allow it to cool slightly on the counter before you add the essential oils.  It’s okay if the oil is warm when you add the essential oils, but it should not be hot.
- Mix the essential oil into coconut/shea mixture and put the jar in the fridge to get firm.
- You can use the eczema cream at this point, but if you’d like more of a “whipped” body butter lotion then put the oil in a kitchen aid stand mixer and mix on high for several minutes until the eczema cream looks like whipped butter.  You may have to scrape the sides of the mixer down a few times.
- Apply liberally to any affected area of the skin.
