My Quotable Kid

So I, like most parents, think my kids are the most amazing, smartest, funniest little beings on the planet earth. They say the most amazing and funniest things and I started thinking maybe, if I write everything they say down I could write a book. Of course my common sense kicked in and I thought, in reality WHO would buy this book? 

As synchronicity usually works in my favor, I came across the book 'My Quotable Kid' at Barnes and Nobles. It has been awesome being able to write in the sweetest, funniest things my boys say. I was also ecstatic to find that they have 'My Quotable Grandkid' as well! My mom is obsessed with it.

100 Day of School Project

Hi All, 

So my son had a '100 Day of School' T-Shirt Project due last week. I searched the web high and low, and let me tell you, there are some of the most creative projects out there!! He came up with his own idea of putting stickers on a T-Shirt. The project entailed placing items on a shirt in increments of 2, 5, or 10; I figured 10 would be the easiest to accomplish. 

As all parent's become accustomed to, when you have more than one child, what you do for one you HAVE to do for the other. So of course I go the little one a Tee and some stickers as well.

DIY Headboard Project

Hiiiiii. I know it's been a crazy while since I've shared anything! But it's a New Year and I figure I get back into the swing of things!! 

So i wanted to share my latest project with you guys. Apparently, down here in the Sunshine State there is wood just randomly being given away!! I couldn't believe it, just loads and loads of wood pallets at your disposal!! If you have a truck or the means to to travel with it, then viola it's yours! 

I had the idea that I wanted to make a headboard, why not right? Random wood pallets just lying around, why not put it to good use. Besides taking the wood apart, I created a frame and stained it with 'Wood Finish' in color 'Golden Oak'. Now I wish it could've been a taaaad lighter but after hours of work, I was NOT about to restain it. LOL  Then I went to Target and Home Goods and purchased the bed accessories. Needless to say I absolutely love the outcome :) What do you think??

Unisex Diaper Bouquet

Hi All!!

So my sister-in-law is expecting!! Yayyy, can’t wait to hold the baby. So she decided that she wanted a gender reveal party.  Her concept is slightly different from most gender reveal parties; the gender is only hidden from her and her husband. Within the invitation my niece has specified the sex of the baby so that they don’t receive a lot of green and yellow clothing!! LOL Which I thought was VERY smart.

I decided I wanted to do something special for her, and told her I was going to make a Diaper Bouquet; to differ from the common ‘Diaper Cake’.  I took photos and listed step-by-step instructions incase anyone reading this wanted to recreate it for someone they know.

 

What you’ll need:

Diapers (obviously)

Tulle (any color you want)

A Vase

Decorative Gems (any color)

Sticks

Tape

Instructions:

Place the decorative gems in the vase

Wrap the diapers around the sticks

Tie rubber bands around the rolled diapers

Wrap tulle around the diapers and tape closed

Stick the diapers in the vase

Arrange the flowers appropriately

Use loose tulle and place between the sticks

Grace and Frankie

Well Netflix has done it again! Their superior way of creating hit shows is understated. I recently came across a Netflix series titled 'Grace & Frankie' and have just binged watched the 2 seasons they have; which is nothing compared to how people have dedicated days and nights watching seasons upon seasons of popular shows (myself included). I cannot wait until season 3 comes out, which isn't scheduled to come out until May 2017! 

The synopsis: 2 couples who have been married for 40 years hit turmoil when the husbands decide to tell their wives that they are leaving them,  for EACHOTHER!  The dynamic between the families and the wives is witty and humorous. This all star cast includes: Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen and much more. After much harassment, I even got my mom to watch it and she as well is binge watching ☺ 

Next goal: Start watching the Game of Thrones series, but I definitely need to dedicate some time for that. And who exactly can sit still and watch 6 seasons of anything with a 2-year-old running around?! So that will have to sit on my imaginary shelf for now. 

Betsey Johnson Mini Purse

Hi Yall, 

So the other day I was with my son out shopping for my sister in law's birthday gift, and of course I come across this cutsie 'Betsey Johnson Mini Speedy Crossbody Bag'. I mean as any toddler mom knows, you are literally walking around with a  house in a bag. You just never know when kids are going to have an accident, need their "special" toy or have a bout of starvation right after you LEAVE THE HOUSE. I kept saying to myself 'when am I actually going to use this little thing'? 

Aside from traveling with kids , I myself am always walking around with all my personal belongings in my purse!! Making a quick run?? Sureeee, let me just bring my luggage!! Anywho, I ended up buying the purse and it is absolutely adorable.... and functional! LOL When running out the house to take my son to school, or running errands alone (which by the way is very rare), I grab the mini, throw my wallet, keys, phone and go!

My B-Day Surprise!!

So my birthday just passed last week and for my birthday gift my wonderful dear Fiancé gave me a huge a surprise!! He brought my mom and grandmother down here for a week ANDDD took us to Disney :) 

I was so happy my mother was able to be present for when we took the boys to Disney for the first time. Even before we left she was saying how she wanted to be in Florida when we decided to take the boys and she did not want to miss the experience. Not only was she able to share that moment with us, but my grandmother had never been to Disney and she always wished she would be able to visit. My grandmother is 83 and it was such a special moment having my family here and being able to share one of her dreams with her. And of course in TRUE Tourist fashion, we all wore disney related shirts with our position in the family (Dad, Mom, Grandma). My shirt was slightly different as it was my birthday. My Tee said 'All about me'. The best thing is we found these shirts in Target!! 

My Fiance fulfilled so many wishes and dreams and we will always be grateful! 

Florida oh Florida

HI All, 

So its been about 3 months since I've relocated down to Florida and let me just say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I thought I would desperately miss New York, (I mean don't get me wrong I of course miss my family and friends), however, the transition for the family has been great! 

My 2 most favorite things about living down here are the clouds and the serenity I feel when sitting outside. I feel so connected and grounded to the earth around me.

Julius started Pre-K and he is learning so much!! In less than a month he recognizes some letters and has even started singing in Spanish!!! Maximus loves running outside and chasing the animals around and getting dirt in his hair. Sito, (my step-son), transferred colleges down here and has adjusted well. 

It has been such an amazing transition, better than what I could've hoped for!
